This article by Keith Cooper highlights a recent snapshot survey of 31 house builders by the Home Builders' Federation, which found that 17,432 affordable homes with detailed planning permission were held up because they were unable to find a purchaser for their section 106 affordable homes.

It considers the problems contributing to this situation and highlights views on possible ways of addressing them.
