The Housing Ombudsman: Further reading
The Housing Ombudsman has awarded £40,000 to residents after they were left in dire damp and mould conditions by Lewisham Council.
The Ombudsman found three cases of severe maladministration by the landlord. The level of compensation awarded in two of the cases reflect the rent paid by the residents during a period where the significance of the failings meant they lost enjoyment of the home.
A summary of each of the three cases can be accessed via the above link.
