Renters call for more flexible broadband contracts

Uswitch: Further reading
Nearly half of UK renters wish broadband contracts were better suited to their needs, according to a new study by Uswitch.
Just over 4.6 million households live in the private rented sector in England. Government research shows that people living in this type of accommodation tend to move around more frequently, with one in five private renters having lived in their current home for less than a year.
However, over four in ten currently find themselves locked into 18-24 month broadband contracts.
This is proving costly to renters, and over a quarter have had to pay exit fees to leave their broadband provider because their contract came to an end.
A third of respondents indicated they would be willing to pay extra for a shorter contract option.
Renters are calling for more choice from broadband providers. One in five said there aren't enough short-term contracts and one in ten agreed they feel penalised by a lack of short-term options.

Bield Housing & Care: Further reading
Build officially launch its online customer portal 'My Bield', which is set to improve access to a range of services and encourage independent living.
'My Bield' can be accessed via the Bield website by clicking a tab at the top right hand side of the homepage.
From there, tenants (and their Powers of Attorney or Guardians) can get in touch at a time that is convenient for them in order to view their rent accounts and correspondence, log enquiries and request and track repairs.
Staff will continue to be contactable through more traditional methods for tenants who do not want to transfer to the digital option.
