The Mayor of London is investing an additional £20.2 million into the 'Life off the Streets Programme', as part of continued efforts to help people sleeping rough in London rebuild their lives.
More than three-quarters of the funding will be used to deliver the 'No Second Night Out' service from 1 April 2024 to 31 March 2027, with the possibility of extending it for up to a further two years.
The service supports people who are sleeping rough for the first time and provides tailored support based on their unique circumstances and needs.
In 2022-23 it supported 1,887 people, 87% of whom did not return to sleeping rough.

Scottish Government: Further reading
The Scottish Government has announced measures aimed at reducing the number of households living in temporary accommodation.
Measures will be backed by at least £60 million to support a national acquisition plan to increase the supply of social and affordable housing.
The funding will support councils and registered social landlords to purchase properties, including empty homes and private sector homes.
Other measures to reduce temporary accommodation will include working with social landlords to increase allocations to homeless households and providing national guidance for local authorities to support good practice around changing temporary accommodation into permanent affordable homes.
