In Zurich, almost three-quarters of households rent and around one in four homes is owned and managed by a cooperative or public body. Currently, around 15,300 people live in municipal housing.
This blog isn't a comprehensive account of the history of rented housing in Zurich but a look at three main developments noted by its author during a brief visit.
