The Building Safety Bill received Royal Assent and became an Act of Parliament on 28 April 2022.

The Bill began its passage through Parliament in July 2021, with the objectives of:

The Act represents an important milestone, following the tragic fire at Grenfell Tower, in overhauling building safety regulations.
