Sovereign: Further reading

Sovereign Housing Association will invest £450k over the next two years in giving young people a voice in their housing and community future.

Projects interested in applying for support will be able to access up to £10,000 for their organisations.

Criteria for the groups and projects that can apply will be co-created with Sovereign's own Youth Panel, which is made up of young residents.

Peabody: Further reading

Peabody is working in partnership with Islington Giving's Make It Happen Fund, which provides grants of up to £500 to residents, community groups or small organisations to help do the things they care about.

Projects that have been supported so far include:

Islington Giving will consider supporting a project if it is something that would benefit the community.

Optivo and Southern Housing Group in merger talks

The boards of Optivo and Southern Housing Group have jointly agreed to start discussions about a potential merger.

The proposed partnership would create a new 77,000 home social landlord.

Under proposals, the new organisation would be called Southern Housing and key leaders would be:

An engagement programme will be launched to give residents, staff and external partners an opportunity to feed into the detailed discussions.

Subject to due diligence and successful negotiations, Optivo and Southern Housing Group hope to complete the process of coming together by December 2022.
