Update
Boris Johnson's reshuffle of cabinet ministers sees Michael Gove replace Robert Jenrick as the new secretary of state at the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government.
Gove will also take on a new lead for 'levelling up', as well as retaining responsibility for the union and elections.
Some will regard this as a sideways move from his role as Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster at the Cabinet Office.
In his new role, Gove will have to shape a revised strategy to meet the government's 300,000-a-year housing target, which cannot now rely on previously proposed planning reforms.
Note: A few days later, it was announced that the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government will become the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities as the Government - fuller details via this link.

GOV.UK: Further reading
Communities Secretary Robert Jenrick has officially unveiled the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government's (MHCLG) second headquarters.
The new headquarters, based in the i9 building in the heart of Wolverhampton, will for the first time mean a regular ministerial presence outside of the capital.
The new office will help create jobs throughout the West Midlands. Recruitment is happening at pace in Wolverhampton and across the wider region for a range of roles and levels, from entry grade to senior civil servants.
With a mixture of new recruits and staff choosing to relocate to the new office, the department plans to have between 150 and 250 people based in Wolverhampton by April 2022.
