L&Q: Further reading
L&Q has published its first Sustainability Finance Framework, paving the way for the housing association to use a range of loans and bonds to boost environmental and social outcomes.
L&Q has four long-term targets relating to the environmental, social and governance (ESG) agenda:
Eligible categories are defined as affordability and security, resident support, place-making, climate change, resource management and ecology.
For sustainability-linked instruments, L&Q will select one or several key performance indicators that target operational carbon emissions, energy efficiency of residents' homes, delivery of affordable homes and community investment.

The government has announced Affordable Homes Programme funding of £8.6 billion, to deliver around 119,000 homes - including 57,000 for ownership, 29,600 for social rent and 6,250 rural homes.
It is estimated that the programme could support up to 370,000 jobs across the country for homebuilders, SME developers and wider businesses supporting the house building industry. This is expected to generate up to £26 billion of other private and public investment.
Around half of the new homes from this funding will be available for affordable home ownership. The funding will also deliver nearly 30,000 homes for Social Rent.
It will also deliver new supported housing for some of the most vulnerable, providing homes for older or disabled people with support needs.
Nearly 90 new partnerships - made up of councils, housing associations and private providers - have been successful in bidding for a share of the funding.??
Nearly £5.2 billion of the programme funding will be delivered outside London by Homes England. The Greater London Authority will deliver homes within London.
