Rough sleepers are to be helped stay off the streets for good through a joined-up approach to treating the underlying causes of rough sleeping.
Speaking with council and charity leaders, Housing Secretary Robert Jenrick set out government plans to build on the hugely successful 'Everyone In' programme - through a renewed focus on cross-agency cooperation to tackle the complex root causes of rough sleeping.
Joined-up support services, bringing together central government, councils, charities and welfare groups, will work side-by-side to tackle the underlying issues of rough sleeping, such as healthcare and substance misuse.
This commitment will build on the local partnerships that were developed during the pandemic - providing rough sleepers with a route off the street for good.??

Housing Minister Eddie Hughes has announced a partnership that will see a total of £30 million invested to create over 200 move-on homes for rough sleepers and those at risk of homelessness.
The three year pilot, which will run until 2024, will see £15 million of government funding combined with an additional £15 million provided by Big Society Capital.
Big Society Capital is an independent financial institution that invests in a range of programmes aimed at delivering homes for vulnerable people.
The grant will fund the purchase of existing housing from the property market in partnership with local organisations and make them available at Local Housing Authority rent levels to ensure they remain affordable.
The pilot will provide homes in Greater Manchester, London and Teesside with a smaller number of other homes provided in areas across England.
Tailored support from charities and social enterprises that specialise in housing vulnerable people will be available to help residents maintain their tenancies, including addiction services, education and employment support and counselling.

The current ban on evictions by bailiffs ended on 31 May 2021, which will leave thousands of private renters across England facing eviction this summer.
Ahead of the ban lifting, Shelter released damning new research on the gross insecurity of private renting in England. It shows:
Previous research carried out by Shelter at the end of November 2020 revealed 445,000 private renting adults in England were in arrears at the time, or had been threatened with eviction by their landlord or letting agent in the past month.
Shelter is warning the government must take urgent action now to protect renters against the imminent threat of eviction and homelessness with a package of emergency financial aid.
But to protect renters long-term, Shelter says the government must address the structural failings of the private rental system through its forthcoming Renters' Reform Bill.

These Regulations amend The Allocation of Housing and Homelessness (Eligibility) (England) Regulations 2006 (SI 2006/1294) in order to make a new category of persons subject to immigration control eligible for an allocation of social housing under Part 6 of the Housing Act 1996 or homelessness assistance under Part 7 of that Act.
