Places for People Group Chief Executive announces retirement

Places for People has announced that after 24 at the helm, Group Chief Executive David Cowans has decided to retire on 31st March 2022.

He has been responsible for the expansion and growth of Places for People, which now manages around 200,000 homes across the country and is one of the largest developers of affordable housing through its Placemaking approach.

The Group continues its focus to create affordable homes and sustainable communities, and David Cowans will continue to lead the implementation of the business plan and support the succession planning over the next 12 months.

Habinteg Housing Association appoints Nick Apetroaie as its new Chief Executive

Nick Apetroaie has been appointed as the new Chief Executive at Habinteg Housing Association, effective from April 12th.

Previously he was Executive Director for Care, Education and Safeguarding for the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) - a role he held for three years.

Prior to RNIB, Nick Apetroaie spent nine years at 16,000 home Viridian Housing, including time as Care Director and Property Director, culminating in three years as CEO.
