The HCA has recently published an updated version of 'Regulating the Standards', which sets out its operational approach to assessing registered providers' compliance with the regulatory standards.

This is an important document that describes how the regulatory teams will use In-Depth Assessments (IDAs), Annual Stability Checks and Quarterly Surveys to inform their regulatory judgements, as well detailing the expectations of data returns and notifications.

This version replaced that published in December 2016 and outlines some major changes as well as some shifts in emphasis.

This article from Campbell Tickell provides a summary of the changes, as well as a further link to its 'mark-up' which compares the new version of the one it replaces.
