The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) has shared a further response to the Grenfell Inquiry Phase 2 report's recommendations.
The report identifies further opportunities for change, listed under the general headings of Regulatory, Structural and Operational.
The report calls for the responsibility for the functions relating to fire safety to be brought under a single Secretary of State.
Its recommendations include mandatory fire safety measures for staircases in both new and existing buildings over 18 metres.
It also calls for a broader use of sprinklers across new and converted buildings where there is a higher risk to vulnerable occupants.
