Housing association finds virtual viewings proving a success

Sanctuary Housing: Further reading

Sanctuary Housing has found that more and more residents are securing properties with it through virtual viewings introduced because of the pandemic.

With face-to-face meetings having been restricted by national and regional lockdowns, prospective residents have instead been sent short video tours of the homes they're interested in renting.

This gives them the opportunity to view the property safely and in their own time, making the sign-up process much quicker.

Because there is no need for anyone to travel to view a property, some lettings have been secured by residents looking to relocate from other parts of the country.

People are able to view a property multiple times and also share the clips with friends and relatives.

Sanctuary has now created a Vimeo channel which allows it to share links for vacant properties with applicants.

In the past month, 83 properties were viewed around 1,000 times, averaging 12 views per property and this led to 49 of them being let.
