NHMF Conference provides a forum for sharing ideas

National Housing Maintenance Forum (NHMF): Conference website

Last month's NHMF Conference saw over 400 delegates gather in Birmingham to discuss the hot topics facing the social housing sector today.

This year, the conference themes included contract management and procurement, compliance, asset management, new technology and innovation.

Over the two days, delegates were able to attend a wide range of workshops and plenary sessions, including a panel discussion which provided thought provoking ideas on implementing strategic policies around mental health issues across the social housing sector.

Delegates also had the opportunity to hear from Steffen Ries (Innovation Academy, Freiburg), who shared his insights from last year's NHMF Study Tour where the group visited innovative social housing projects.

He shared some lessons we could learn from one of Germany's most sustainable cities and provided useful insights into how we could do things differently in the UK.

M3's Senior Business Support Manager, Craig Oosthuizen, who chaired the opening plenary session said: "The conference provides a genuinely useful forum for sharing ideas and finding out about how new technology can provide effective solutions to problems being faced across the social housing sector."
