Councils seeking to transform their public services through digital innovation can apply to a new £7.5 million fund, Local Government Minister Rishi Sunak MP announced at the LocalGovCamp event in Birmingham.

Grants of up to £100,000 will be available for projects which demonstrate they benefit local public services and have the potential to be rolled out more widely across the country.

The fund will also be used to provide digital skills training for at least 1,000 staff working on digital solutions at councils.

The deadline to submit an expression of interest is 5 October 2018. A decision on which projects have been chosen is expected to be announced by 3 December.

Designer Software has been founded by a team of housing professionals with the clear vision to deliver pioneering software solutions to Housing Providers.

It is imminently launching HomeMaster, a new web-based Housing Management System specifically designed for housing providers managing up to 2,500 units. CRM, Rents & Factoring will be released in early 2019. Service Charges & Repairs will follow later in the year.

The technologies employed enable HomeMaster users to streamline current processes and permit staff to utilise the complete system on any device, be that mobile or tablet (both iOS & Android) and all PC browsers.

The outdated business model of a large licence fee and upfront training and implementation costs has been discarded - customers are able to implement HomeMaster on a simple subscription basis.
