Housing Minister Christopher Pincher has announced six finalists in a competition to design the homes of the future.
The Home of 2030 competition has encouraged the best and brightest talents of the housing industry to design environmentally friendly homes that support people in leading independent, fulfilling lives as our society ages.
The finalists are:
A winner will be chosen and together with other selected finalists will be introduced to Homes England development partners to explore the possibility of developing bids for a series of homes on Homes England land.

Orbit's new Bluebells development has been shortlisted as a regional finalist in the 'Best Social or Affordable New Housing Development' category in the LABC Building Excellence Awards 2020.
The Local Authority Building Control (LABC) Awards celebrate achievements in the construction industry. They reward excellent buildings, outstanding companies, as well as partnerships and individuals that go the extra mile.
The housing development is a collection of 23, two and three-bedroom properties, located in the village of Reydon. It consists of 15 houses, four flats and four bungalows. Of the 23 homes, 17 are affordable rent and six are shared ownership.
The homes have been designed with energy-efficiency in mind, helping to reduce customer energy bills and lessen the environmental impact. The properties are thoroughly modern and built to an excellent standard.
The development also has an open green space for residents to enjoy as well as plenty of parking available.
The LABC regional winner will be announced on Thursday 3rd September 2020.
