Catalyst Housing: Further reading
Transport for London (TfL) and Catalyst Housing have signed contracts to deliver around 500 new affordable homes in the London Borough of Harrow.
The project will involve redeveloping three car parks to deliver the homes, all of which will be affordable, next to Rayner's Lane, Canons Park and Stanmore Tube stations.
The development proposals retain some parking, although they also encourage a shift to more sustainable modes of transport - including through enhanced cycling facilities.
Catalyst was selected to bring the project forward earlier this year using the Greater London Authority's London Development Panel 2 framework.

Gentoo Group: Further reading
Gentoo has been granted planning permission to develop a second site as part of its Affordable Homes Plan to bring 900 more affordable rented homes to Sunderland by 2024.
Sunderland City Council's Planning Committee approved the Group's application to develop 44 units at Avenue Vivian in Fencehouses.
The development will offer a choice of two- and three-bedroom houses and two-bedroom bungalows - all at affordable rent, which is 80% of local market rents.
Work on the site will begin early in 2020 and the first of the new homes will be available to rent in late 2020

Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH): Further reading
The CIH published the 2019 UK Housing Review Autumn Briefing Paper, which highlights progress towards meeting the Scottish Government's target to deliver 50,000 affordable homes over five years to 2021 - 35,000 of which should be for social rent.
By the end of 2018/19, just over 50% of the overall target for completions had been met - with the figure rising to 61% in terms of approvals.
A sharp increase in completions will be required to meet the target by 2021 but this will be supported by planned funding allocations towards the end of the programme.
The report also warns of the potential implications of Brexit uncertainty and the complexity being created in terms of immigration status affecting people's entitlement to certain types of support.
