Optivo is hosting a seminar about how technology could shape the future of caring for elderly and vulnerable people.

The Smart Social Housing event - called Innovation in Independent Living - will see care, support and housing providers coming together to share knowledge and ideas.

New technology - such as 'wearable tech' - has the potential to deliver new freedoms to thousands of people. This includes sending alerts following falls or deteriorating health.

Robin Deane, Head of Independent Living at Optivo, said: "New, sensor based technologies have the potential to transform the way we work with our older and more vulnerable residents, giving them more freedom and choice."

The morning event on 9th October is free to attend for anyone working for a social landlord, local authority or care provider.
