One Housing has launched its innovative Women in Leadership Programme, designed to support women at all stages in their career and create a positive environment to gain new skills, challenge stale perceptions and share valuable experiences.

Informed by One Housing's gender equality research and in response to requests for practical tools by women in the workplace, this leadership programme equips learners with relevant internal techniques and strategies to overcome obstacles related to gender inequality within the workplace.

The eight-module course develops skills such as strengths-based leadership and communication, alongside equipping participants to challenge limiting self-beliefs, using mindfulness techniques, embracing risk and developing a positive mindset.

The Women in Leadership Programme can be delivered as part of a Chartered Management Institute Leadership and Management Apprenticeship, which One Academy also offers.

A record 250 people have been helped into apprenticeships in the last 12 months, taking the cumulative total to 1,005.

More than 60% of the apprenticeships taken up this year have been in the construction sector but significant numbers have been supported into roles in retail, health and beauty and business administration.
