Southwark Council's Cabinet has enforced several recommendations at its January meeting, said to together help ensure that all its residents benefit from the regenerational transformation of parts of the borough.

An updated social regeneration framework - "Regeneration that works for all" - along with new social regeneration indicators, will allow the council to consider and measure the impact of new schemes on a range of issues that affect residents - including life expectancy, physical and mental health, social mobility, education and employment rates, access to culture and housing quality.

Another report agreed by Cabinet makes changes to the draft "New Southwark Plan", in a final opportunity to comment before the plan is submitted to the Planning Inspector this summer.

Work is underway on a multi-million pound redevelopment project that will bring more than 100 affordable homes to Salford.

Housing association Salix Homes has appointed partner contractor Willmott Dixon Partnership Homes Ltd to deliver the £22.5 million Canon Green Campus development on Canon Green Drive in Trinity.

The project will see 1960s tower block Canon Green Court completely transformed and modernised, along with neighbouring apartment block Westminster House, which will undergo an external facelift.

A brand new 11-storey apartment block is being built within the grounds of the expansive site, comprising of 108 one and two-bedroom affordable apartments, which will be available under the Rent to Buy scheme.

Contractors are now on site with both the refurbishment and the new-build construction set to run concurrently over the next two years.

Catalyst Housing Group: Article link

Catalyst, one of London's leading housing associations, and Mount Anvil, the award winning London developer, have announced a new partnership for the regeneration of Friary Park in Acton, West London.

The development proposals will deliver around 930 mixed-tenure homes. This includes the re-provision of all 225 homes for social rent alongside new shared ownership homes.

There will also be more larger family homes to meet the needs of current Catalyst residents.

In addition, the scheme will deliver new commercial space, landscaped green spaces and an improved community facility.

Catalyst will continue to own Friary Park and manage the homes for rent and shared ownership.

All current Catalyst residents on Friary Park will have the option of being rehoused in the new development, if planning permission is granted.

Redevelopment of the estate is required given the existing conditions of the properties on the Estate.
