Alertacall has announced that one of its oldest housing clients, One Manchester, will be using its Housing Proactive service in General Needs as well as Sheltered housing.

The properties are all based in tower block accommodation located in Central Manchester.

Housing Proactive is a housing management system which increases contact with tenants regarding housing related issues by offering it on a daily basis, 365 days a year.

The service is being implemented following tenant consultation to improve day-to-day communication and also help One Manchester deliver service efficiencies and better manage properties within their tower blocks.

A concierge service which was formerly used to report repairs on behalf of tenants had been removed, therefore tenants wanted a system which would make it easy to communicate property issues with the housing team and have contact at weekends, not just during the week.

Daily contact from Housing Proactive is controlled by individual tenants using specially designed devices installed at their property, in conjunction with a highly trained contact centre team.

Over 160,000 social housing properties have access, or are imminently due to be connected, to Hyperoptic's full fibre network.

Hyperoptic is the UK's largest gigabit broadband provider. It delivers the nation's fastest broadband speeds of up to 1Gbps (1,000 megabits per second), which is over 21x faster than the UK average.

It supplies a number of registered providers of social housing, including A2Dominion, the Hyde Group, Catalyst, Genesis Housing Association and Notting Hill Housing Trust.

It is also working with 50 councils across the UK, to supply connectivity to their social housing stock.

The social housing sector has been a key focus for Hyperoptic since its inception in 2011, as there is a huge market requirement to improve digital infrastructure and skills.

It is estimated that 11.3 million adults in the UK remain digitally excluded and 37% of people that are digitally excluded are social housing tenants.
