Salix Homes has five new apprentices - four of whom have joined its Repairs and Maintenance Service, while the fifth is learning the ropes in the Customer Service Team.
The new apprentices joining Salix Homes' Repairs and Maintenance Team have been provided with new toolkits from its partner building merchants - Travis Perkins Managed Services.
Sue Sutton, executive director of operations at Salix Homes, said:
"An apprenticeship is a fantastic route for not only the apprentice, but for Salix Homes as an employer too. They're gaining essential skills and experience while getting paid, while for Salix Homes, we are providing opportunities for local people and building our workforce of the future.
"Our latest apprentice cohort will also benefit from the expertise and guidance of a dedicated mentor who will provide one-on-one support throughout their apprenticeship journey."
Over the past three years Salix Homes has created more than 50 apprenticeship positions through our Earn as You Learn programme, both within the organisation and with our partner contractors.

Earlier this year, Wheatley - Scotland's leading housing, care and property-management group - pledged to set aside 10% of places on its Modern Apprenticeship programme for young people with a disability.
There were so many high-calibre applicants that Wheatley has exceeded its target, with six (16%) of the 38 new recruits having a disability.
The six new recruits live with a range of disabilities, including learning needs and mental health conditions. They will learn on the job with Wheatley and its partner organisations in housing, care, property-management, environmental services and business administration, while studying for an SVQ qualification.
The award-winning apprenticeship scheme is delivered by Wheatley's charitable trust Wheatley Foundation. Director Lorraine McLaren said: "We are determined to support people from our communities access the opportunities they deserve to get on in life."
