Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) members have chosen Aileen Evans as the organisation's next vice president.
She is the chief executive of Grand Union Housing Group and received 41% of the 1,654 votes cast during the closely-fought election.
Fellow candidates Lindsey Williams and Darshan Singh Matharoo received 34% and 25% respectively.
Aileen Evans will replace current vice president Jim Strang when he steps up to the role of president in September.

Gary Orr has been appointed as the new Chief Executive of Radian and will take up the post in October. He will take over from Mick Sweeney, who has been interim Chief Executive at Radian since July 2017.
With over 20 years experience in the housing sector, Gary Orr joins Radian from Yarlington Housing Group, where he served as Chief Executive for seven years. Before joining Yarlington, he was Chief Executive of Homes in Sedgemoor.
Gary Orr has been Vice-Chair of the National Housing Federation (South West) and a founding member of Homes for the South West.
He has recently commenced a part-time PhD, researching the increasing commercialisation of the sector and the implications this will have for housing over the next 20 years.
