Hyde seeks to generate further social value benefits from its suppliers

Hyde is taking a more strategic and collaborative approach to generating increased social value through its supply chain.

Social Value Adviser, Chichi Onyenemelu, explains:

"We have devised a formal system for requesting social value contributions from new and existing contractors that is simple, flexible and proportionate to the size of the contract.

"This is in line with both the needs of the organisation and the capacity and expertise of our contractors.

"Contributions are captured in an annual plan, which is regularly monitored."

This approach to social value has been embodied in Hyde's new Social Value Procedure and has been built into the pre-procurement process. By 2020, it is hoped that all new contracts valued at £100k and above (over the term of the contract) will follow this process.

Many organisations in Hyde's supply chain are already participating in Hyde's new social value process.

Shareholders of Notting Hill Housing have voted overwhelmingly to confirm their support for its proposed merger with Genesis Housing Association.

They had initially voted in favour of the move, which would create one of the country's largest housing associations, at a special general meeting on 16 January. Under Notting Hill's constitution, that had to be followed by this second vote.

Genesis' shareholders have also backed the proposal.

Work continues to prepare for the two organisations to become Notting Hill Genesis, including ongoing conversations and engagement with residents, colleagues and funders.
