A new £7.5 million housing research centre is about to be launched.

The Collaborative Centre for Housing Evidence (CaCHE) brings together nine UK universities, the National Institute of Economic and Social Research, the Chartered Institute of Housing, the Royal Town Planning Institute and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.

CaCHE is independent of government and aims to advance knowledge of the housing market, provide robust evidence to inform housing policy and practice across the UK, and aim to tackle housing problems at a national, devolved, regional, and local level.

The five-year project will be led by Glasgow University and have staff located at five hubs across the UK - in Glasgow, Sheffield, London, Cardiff and Belfast
