Karen Buck MP to bring private members Fitness for Habitation Bill

Karen Buck MP got fourth place in the 2017 ballot for private members bills and she has taken this opportunity to bring forward a new version 'Fitness for Habitation' Bill.

As currently drafted, the Bill replaces section 8 Landlord and Tenant Act 1985 (and the rent limits last changed in 1957) to provide for an implied covenant by the lessor in the lease/tenancy of any lease of a dwelling for a term of less than 7 years that:
