A Birmingham landlord was ordered to pay £3,860 at Birmingham Magistrates Court for failing to obtain an HMO licence and for breaching management regulations - after admitting he didn't care about the property.

The landlord pleaded guilty to failing to obtain an HMO licence and for breaching a huge list of management regulations. He was fined £1,800 with £2,000 costs and victim surcharge of £60.

Officers from the private rented services team visited the property with West Midlands Police to assess if the property required an HMO licence and to check on the condition of the property.

They found that the property was in a neglected state of repair - the above link gives access to the full list of regulations breached.
