Waltham Forest Council has made a successful bid for a grant of around £1 million from the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS), which will allow it to extend its low-carbon decentralised heat network on Marlowe Road and Wood Street South in Walthamstow.

The current regeneration of the Marlowe Road estate in Walthamstow gives the Council the opportunity to extend its decentralised energy network in the area, and develop a wider network beyond the estate which supports the Council's and the Greater London Authority's aspirations for the development of new networks and infrastructure.
