Genesis Opens Up Access To Tried and Tested Supplier Network

Posted 07.12.16

Genesis Housing Association is making its architects and contractors framework available to other providers who want to access handpicked suppliers and deliver savings without needing to start from scratch on lengthy and costly procurement processes.

Housing associations, local authorities and a wide range of other public and third sector bodies can now sign up to use Genesis' framework to help them procure suppliers to support their own development programmes.

The framework consists of 26 lots listing architects and contractors who have already met the high standard set following a fully compliant OJEU tender process.

Providers accessing the framework can choose suppliers specialising in new build, regeneration and conversion schemes who operate in London, the South East, East of England and East Midlands.

Genesis' Procurement team will also be on hand to help users with evaluations, templates and running a mini-competition process.

Genesis, which owns or manages 33,000 homes across London and the East of England, established the framework in March 2016 following a successful call-out for suppliers keen to play a part in its ambitious plans to deliver at least 5,000 homes a year over the lifetime of its 2015-2020 corporate strategy.

Six Genesis developments have been delivered through the framework to date, with a value of over £13 million. Over £500 million worth of Genesis' own contracts are set to be procured through the framework over the next two years.

This is one of the first framework agreements that Genesis will be procuring via the Inscope procurement brand, which plans to make frameworks more accessible to the housing sector.

In addition to its architects and contractors framework Inscope also offers frameworks for media, creative and digital services. Further frameworks are also currently being procured in a range of categories including - Energy, Insurance, Building Components and Repairs and Maintenance, all of which will be available to all housing sector providers and public bodies.
