Furniture Poverty is a relatively new term for a situation that millions of people find themselves in, day in day out, in the UK. Though this is new language, it is a decades old problem and End Furniture Poverty's parent organisation, FRC Group, has been working with people in Furniture Poverty since 1988.

In the same way as fuel and food poverty, Furniture Poverty focuses on the lack of a specific type of material good. In the case of Furniture Poverty, the material goods are:
