A new Chair of the board and new Managing Director have been appointed at the Chartered Institute of Housing's consultancy arm, CIH consultancy.
Karen Armitage, Chief Executive of Stafford and Rural Homes, will take over from Yvonne Leishman as Chair of the CIH consultancy board in June.
Karen Armitage joined Stafford and Rural Homes as Chief Executive in February 2006. She has overseen the organisation's growth, driving it to achieve 10th place in the Times Top 100 Best Not-For-Profit Organisation to Work For in 2015. Her housing career spans more than 25 years.
Karen is also a governing board member at the Chartered Institute of Housing, a member of the Stafford Chamber of Commerce, a key partner on the Stafford Borough Strategic Partnership and a Women Achievers nominee.
Graham Maunders, managing director of Graham Maunders Associates, will take up the new role of managing director of CIH consultancy at the beginning of June.
Graham Maunders started his housing career as trainee housing manager for Horsham District Council, and has gained extensive experience across the industry with local authorities, housing associations, the Housing Corporation and New Deal for Communities regeneration, as well as providing business support and advisory services to housing providers for the last 10 years.
He has also served on a number of housing association boards, and is a former member of the CIH council and the CIH learn & improve board. He currently serves on the CIH South East regional board.
