Shift National Conferences: The Future of Heat
Heating rooms and water account for three quarters of the energy in a home. Recent years have seen a proliferation of new technologies and systems available to social landlords to meet the challenge of 'affordable warmth'.
How can district heating and heat networks help and what should we be doing now to prepare? What works and what doesn't and how much funding does it garner? What can social landlords do to make the most of new ways of doing things - without the risks?
Those attending the SHIFT conferences will have the opportunity to:
- develop an understanding of the new technologies, systems and research that can change the heating landscape;
- learn from best practice and practical case studies from housing associations that are leading the sector and pursuing "affordable warmth";
- participate in practical workshops to explore the opportunities of new technologies and learn directly from the ones leading the sector in heating; and
- network and share experiences with colleagues from the sector.
The dates of the conferences are 25 May (Leeds) and 8 June (London).
