Each year the National House Maintenance Forum (NHMF) invites maintenance managers from organisations all over the UK to submit projects they are particularly proud of for awards. The 2016 awards were presented at the recent NHMF Conference Awards Dinner.
While it is recognised that there is a great need to build more housing in the UK, the job of maintaining the existing stock is also one of paramount importance. The line-up of shortlisted awards was extremely strong this year and the following awards were made:
In a new feature for 2016, attendees of the NHMF conference were able to use the just-introduced Conference App to submit their votes for Project of the Year. Once all of the votes were tallied, the Project of the Year award went to King Street Housing for the development and implementation, in partnership with larger organisation Morgan Sindall Properties, of PropertyCare, a brand-new asset-management model.
PropertyCare involves using smarter business processes, such as a 60-point home check, as well as state-of-the-art technology, to intelligently capture asset and customer data, allowing King Street Housing to remotely manage the maintenance of domestic boilers in a more proactive and preventative way. This innovative approach has effectively been able to drive down responsive repairs.
