CIH Calls for Experiences of Diversity in Housing

Posted 10.09.14

Housing professionals and organisations are being invited to share their experiences to improve the diversity of housing industry leaders.

The Chartered Institute of Housing's (CIH) Presidential Commission on Leadership and Diversity was announced earlier this year and is now making a call for evidence.

Evidence can be submitted via email, twitter or YouTube, or by speaking to one of the commissioners in person/over the phone. People and organisations interested in making a contribution can also hold a meeting and invite a commissioner to come along.

CIH President Steve Stride, who is chairing the commission, said:

"We're going to be examining ways to improve the diversity of our industry's leaders and, most importantly, making practical recommendations for real and effective change.

"Ultimately, we want to build a stronger sector and that means we need leaders that reflect the communities we serve across the UK.

"This is where housing people come in, we need housing professionals at every level, as well as board members and customers to help us do this. We want to know what works and what's preventing diverse leadership across our sector.

"We also want to hear about what's working well outside of the housing industry, so we can identify excellent practice wherever it's happening."

The other members of the commission are:

The call for evidence is open until 31 October. For more information on how to make a submission visit click here.
