Merseyside Housing Associations work together to Deliver Reduced Bills and Lower Carbon Emissions

Posted 01.09.14

Some of the country's leading experts in energy efficiency and low carbon technologies gathered recently at Liverpool's International Festival for Business (IFB) for a unique event.

Attended by 80 delegates, the VIRIDIS event was hosted by Wirral-based affordable housing provider Magenta Living and highlighted the opportunities available in the fast growing industry and hosted a live housing retrofit project.

VIRIDIS is the consortium name for a group of social landlords and local authorities in the Liverpool City Region. They believe that everyone can save money through making small and simple changes to become more energy efficient - through saving on power, water, heating and introducing other home improvements.

VIRIDIS partner Magenta Living is the largest housing association in Wirral, responsible for over 12,000 affordable homes. Experienced in retrofitting, Magenta Living has successfully carried out almost 1,000 solid external wall insulations - amongst some of the toughest but most important measures to take in reducing fuel costs to residents.

Magenta Living's Building Services team has pledged a long term commitment to retrofitting and is accredited to install insulation.
