Genesis Agrees Landmark Repairs and Maintenance Partnership with Kier
Genesis Housing Association has agreed a new repairs and maintenance partnership, which will see Kier providing responsive repairs services to nearly a third of Genesis' properties and investment works and cyclical maintenance across its portfolio.
Under the initial four-year, £140 million contract, Kier will carry out cyclical and planned investment works, such as kitchen and bathroom replacements and external decorating, at all Genesis properties.
It will also provide responsive repairs for Genesis' homes in East London and the East of England, while the remainder will continue to be serviced by Genesis' in-house Property and Maintenance Service.
The partnership has been designed to build on and refine existing operations and ensure that customers in all regions receive consistent and high standards of responsive repairs.

Selwood Housing Launches a New Repairs and Property Improvement Company
With over 50 staff and 35 new vans, Silcoa has been created to handle all of Selwood Housing's repairs and void works. Tenants living in all of the Association's 6,000 homes will have their repairs carried out by Silcoa staff.
From the outset, Silcoa will be offering extended opening times - providing repairs from 8am until 8pm - as well as the out of hours emergency service.
Selwood Housing chief executive Barry Hughes said:
"By creating Silcoa we have the opportunity to have full control of the service that we provide to our tenants.
"We can be more responsive to our tenants needs; make savings on the £3.6m we spend each year on repairs, and we can keep money in the Wiltshire and Mendip economy by investing those savings into building more affordable homes, improving our current homes and supporting local communities."
