Thirty Projects Benefit from Homeless Transition Fund Allocations

Posted 07.11.13

Housing Minister, Kris Hopkins, has confirmed that 30 projects across the country will benefit from a share of £3.5 million from the Homelessness Transition Fund.

The £20 million fund aims to give people the opportunity to break the cycle of rough sleeping and get the help they need to get their lives back on track. It has already helped charities reach over 14,000 people across the country, by offering help with issues including accommodation, health and jobs.

This allocation of further homelessness transition funding will help to continue the roll-out of the 'No Second Night Out' pledge across the country. Started in London, the scheme helps rough sleepers immediately, with the aim that no one should spend more than one night on the streets.

Funded by the Department for Communities and Local Government and administered by Homeless Link, the independent Homeless Transition Fund was set up to support the Government's rough sleeping strategy - 'Vision to end rough sleeping: No Second Night Out nationwide'.

Sixty four local authority areas have received new funding to help end rough sleeping and details of the grants can be viewed via this link.
