Media Watch - Banks Stop Lending to Social Landlords

Two banks, including one of Scotland's biggest lenders, have stopped providing new loans to housing associations.

Clydesdale Bank and Yorkshire Bank will stop offering facilities to the sector from the new year, although they will continue to service existing facilities. Their combined current loan book for housing associations is worth around £350 million.
