Winners of the UK Housing Awards 2012 Announced

The organisations that scooped the 16 prizes recognising achievement across the housing sector were named at an evening ceremony at the Park Lane Hilton.

Comedian Jeremy Hardy handed out the prizes, which included two new awards: landlord of the year, which went to Westfield Housing Association; and the lifetime achievement award, which went to former Audit Commission chief inspector Roy Irwin.

NFA Awards 2012 Announced

11th July 2012 The winners of the National Federation of ALMOs (NFA) Awards were announced at a ceremony at the Midland Hotel in Manchester.

Sue Roberts MBE, NFA Chair said:

"2012 has introduced some of the most significant changes to council housing for 30 years, and this year's entries showed once more that so much exceptional, inspiring and sterling work is being done by ALMO teams and individuals.

"The NFA Awards are about sharing best practice. But also the NFA Awards are about amazing residents and staff, and I for one greatly enjoyed celebrating their successes and achievements."

How to... build skills and capacity in repairs services

20th July 2012

In June 2012, as part of our Year of Practice, CIH launched Repairs: CIH Charter for Housing developed in partnership with Mears Group.

This How to... is the second in a series specifically focused on supporting organisations to deliver against the commitments in the charter. It is related to commitment 2 in the Charter which encourages landlords to 'equip everyone involved in delivering repairs services with the right skills, capacity and resources'.
