Four Affordable Housing New-build Framework Agreements for Rok

National building and maintenance specialist Rok has announced new-build framework agreements with four social housing providers - Hanover Housing, Housing 21, Chester & District Housing Trust and Arena Housing.

Rok already works for Housing 21, providing a maintenance service for some of the 17,500 properties it has in England offering sheltered and extra care housing and support for older people. Now its new building expertise is being called on to help Housing 21 continue its investment in new homes over the next four years.

Rok also has an existing relationship with the Arena Housing Group for whom it has already built or started work on several developments. The latest agreement means Rok is one of six builders who will help Arena increase its housing stock over the coming four years.

Hanover, one of the largest specialist providers of retirement housing and related support services for older people in England, is a new customer for Rok. Rok is one of seven providers appointed to a four year framework to create new affordable retirement housing properties.

Also new to Rok is Chester & District Housing Trust, which has appointed four builders, including Rok, to carry out its new build minor works contracts over the next four years.

These new appointments follow a string of similar arrangements announced in recent months, which have seen the Company start on a range of different projects as far a field as Whitby in North Yorkshire - where Rok is building 18 homes for Sanctuary Housing - to Truro in Cornwall - where it has a fast track scheme underway building eight properties for Devon and Cornwall Housing Association.

According to Rok's Director of New Build Housing, Charlie Scherer, the Company is on course to deliver more than 1,500 new affordable properties by the end of the year while also maintaining and repairing a further 40,000.
