Lyng Community Association
Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council's Planning Committee has unanimously approved an application to build 363 homes, including 114 affordable properties for rent and 249 for private sale, in The Lyng.
This is the largest single residential regeneration scheme in West Bromwich and is the result of a partnership between Lyng Community Association, which will own and manage the affordable homes, private house builder Barratt West Midlands and the Borough Council, which has received financial support from Urban Living.
The development will cover an area of 7.25 hectares (18 acres) and will include public open space, public art and a new office for Lyng CA.
Work is due to start on site this summer and the first residents will be moving into homes in summer 2011.
