Thanks to an innovative interactive map created by government-funded housing renewal agency Urban Living, Birmingham residents will be able to pinpoint change in their local area.
The online map is thought to be the first of its kind amongst the nine government agency pathfinders UK-wide. It is now up and running on their newly revamped website. It shows at-a-glance all the regeneration projects taking place in Urban Living's catchment area.
In total, a population of 150,000 and around 60,000 homes fall into the map's remit, which is a typical inner-city region spanning in a north-westerly direction from the edge of Birmingham's city centre into parts of adjoining Sandwell.
Schemes both underway and complete are featured on the colourful map, including new-build houses, refurbishments, training projects and site clearances - many of which are illustrated with photographs.
Site visitors will be able to learn exactly how much funding Urban Living has invested into each particular area. A breakdown of what the money has been spent on is also featured.
For Urban Living Chief Executive Adnan Saif, the map offers residents and interested site visitors a great way to keep abreast of new developments across Birmingham. He said:
"Our interactive map really brings to life the exciting regeneration work we are involved in across Birmingham and the Black Country.
"We will continually update the map as new projects get off the ground and others reach completion. We really hope that people will use it as a first point of call to find out exactly what's happening in their area."
