CSHS will be offering this new course with four Pathways:

Other Pathways will follow. CSHS is offering the Level 3 Certificate course over a one year period and will teach it through flexible study - meaning the course will be delivered by a blend of attended study days and learning at home and work.

The first CSHS courses designed around the new structure will start at the beginning of October.

Successful completion of the new CIH Level 3 Certificate in Housing entitles students to use the designator Cert. CIH and to Practitioner Membership of the CIH. CSHS have a dedicated Web page at www.cshs.co.uk/level3 where there's more information and access to a more detailed brochure and application form.

  • A training and development firm that has been operating in the construction industry for just three years announced plans to launch nationally, with its unique training model.

Specialising in Health & Safety, Work Safety Awareness and Green issues relating to corporate and social responsibility, New Generation Learning (NGL) has already captured a client base which includes several major players in the Housing and Construction industry looking to improve their safety record and customer service handling. The firm has offices in Staffordshire, Wiltshire, London and the Welsh borders.

Using the NGL model, construction company supervisors and team leaders are able to carry out their own internal cascading training programmes through the use of facilitation techniques and a series of discussion tools, notes and working prompts. The model is designed so that training can take place anywhere, including on-line or even in the company van.

The training model encompasses two areas specifically relevant to the construction industry. The Workgreen Programme is designed to ensure a company's green credentials stand up to scrutiny and that it is able to realise the commercial value of key 'green' practices, whilst the Work Safe Programme ensures a company can demonstrate exemplary health and safety performance which in turn will improve its chances of winning and retaining contracts.
