Thomas Pocklington Trust is hosting a national lighting and housing design seminar, that will profile examples of good housing design and lighting for people with sight loss. As part of the Trust's 50th anniversary year programme of events and celebrations, the seminar will feature an exhibition including design plans for Pocklington Rise and photos of lighting interventions in other Thomas Pocklington Trust homes. The wide ranging programme for its conference covers all of the latest developments. There is also a specially designed case study session, where speakers will analyse problems arising. The number of empty and abandoned properties hroughout the UK poses a huge challenge for housing professionals working to bring them back into use. As the number of empty properties rise, the need for urgent and effective measures to curb this increase is greater than ever. Capita's conference, in association with the Empty Homes Agency, brings together expert guidance and advice on a range of tools to help reduce the number of empty homes. The Race Equality Foundation's national annual housing conference will:
- Consider how housing organisations can meet the equalities requirements now and in the future.
- Acknowledge the importance of the user voice and partnerships with black and minority ethnic communities.
- Explore how evidence on race equality in housing can be embedded in day to day practice.
