Wirral Conference a Huge Success

Senior female managers from various sectors joined forces to share best practice at a conference held by Wirral Partnership Homes. The conference, which was organised following the National Housing Federation's November 2005 conference, Women in the Lead, was attended by over 20 senior managers.

Jayne Winders, Director of Housing Services for Wirral Partnership Homes, opened the event. She said: "Following the well supported event held by the National Housing Federation, we have been looking at ways of providing an impetus in the North West for women in senior positions. By attending this event it is hoped senior female managers will build up networking links which will be helpful for both personal and business development."

The event included talks from Jackie Green, co-author of 'Leadership 2010 - The Way Forward' and Paul Johnson, a personal coach and mentor who has worked with the Chartered Institute of Housing and contributes to UK Government policy making by working with Government think tanks and policy makers.

Guests also took part in a panel discussion with the panel consisting of:

The event was a huge success and organisers at Wirral Partnership Homes have received positive feedback. Tracey Liggett of Knowsley Housing Trust, said: "I found the content extremely relevant and would definitely support similar meetings in the future." Wirral Partnership Homes plan to organise similar events in the future.
