A tenant ballot approved the transfer of Derwentside Council's 7,200 homes to Derwentside Homes (76% in favour; turnout 66%).
Shaftesbury Housing Group was close to finalising arrangements to sell the 250 home Bishop's Cleeve Estate, to Rooftop HG. The agreement is one of a number of stock sales initiated by Shaftesbury, as part of its business plan.
Tower Hamlets Council delayed a tenant ballot on its Ocean Estate, following suggestions that residents were confused on key issues. The delay attracted swift criticism from the Tower Hamlets Against Transfer of Council Housing group. Its programme of estate-based stock transfers ran into further difficulties when tenants in five of seven ballot areas voted to remain with the Council. The Council is nearly half way through its programme of 48 ballots.
Orbit HA announced it will transfer 94 homes to Westcountry HA and a further 18 dwellings to Tor Homes. The transfer will allow Orbit to focus its operations in a smaller geographical area.
Preston HA completed the transfer of its 6,300 homes to Community Gateway Association.
Sefton Council tenants voted in favour of transferring their homes to One Vision Housing in a re-ballot, which returned a 71% "yes" vote with a turnout of 55%. The re-ballot followed suggestions that tenants had been offered cash incentives to vote "no" in the first ballot, which produced a 55% "no" vote in September 2005.
Halton Borough Council officially completed the transfer of its 6,300 homes to Halton Housing Trust.
