Manchester Council's tenants in Hattersley and Mottram voted in favour of transferring
their homes to Peak Valley HA (92% in favour with a turnout of 77%). The Association will invest £40 million in the 1,600
homes.
The Church of England was reported to be selling its £70 million property portfolio to Grainger Geninvest, a joint venture
company set up by Genesis HG and Grainger Trust. The portfolio includes 455 residential properties, which will be managed by Pathmeads
HA.
Scotland
A postal survey commissioned by Edinburgh Council found that 56% of tenants responding were in
favour of stock transfer. In the survey, which was carried out by the research group TL Dempster, only 14% thought stock transfer was undesirable.
The Council are scheduled to ballot its 24,000 tenants on stock transfer proposals in early 2006.
