Liverpool-based Arena HA transferred 15 houses to Pine Court HA for an average price of £20,000, and 15 flats to Steve Biko HA. The transfers meet the objective of Arena to reduce its activities in the south of the City and also its policy of supporting black and ethnic minority housing associations. The transfers increase the housing stock of Pine Court HA to 400 homes, and Steve Biko's to 191 homes.
Chester-le-Street Council announced it was to ballot its tenants on the option of stock transfer of its 4,600 homes. The Council's housing services received a poor zero-star rating in an Audit Commission inspection report.
Worthing Homes acquired 44 dwellings in West Sussex from London & Quadrant HT. The move was part of L&Q's rationalising of stock policy in the area.
In three ballots, tenants of Tower Hamlets Council's Island Gardens, Island Homes, and St George's Estates voted in favour of transferring their 3,300 homes to associations Eastend Homes and Toynbee Island Homes. The turnout was an average 43%.
