According to a Market & Opinion Research International (MORI) household survey of all 39 of the New Deal for Community (NDC) areas, published by the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister, residents are becoming increasingly aware of local NDC programmes and related benefits.
The survey, which compared findings with a similar exercise two years earlier, found:
NDC initiatives are a key part of the strategy to tackle multiple-deprivation in the most deprived neighbourhoods in the country, by making resources available to address problems in an intensive and co-ordinated way.
These findings were gathered from over 500 addresses in each NDC area. They were surveyed in 2002 by MORI, and then revisited in 2004 for their continued perspectives on local area improvements.
